אִם נִמְשְׁכָה תְפִלַּת הַמִּנְחָה עַד הַלַּיְלָה, לֹא יֹאמְרוּ תַּחֲנוּן, כִּי אֵין אוֹמְרִים תַּחֲנוּן בַּלַּיְלָה. וּצְרִיכִין לִזָּהֵר וּלְהַשְׁגִּיחַ שֶׁלֹּא תִּמָּשֵׁךְ עַד הַלַּיְלָה מַמָּשׁ, כִּי אָז אֵין אוֹמְרִים קַדִּישׁ תִּתְקַבֵּל עַל הַתְּפִלָּה שֶׁהִתְפַּלְּלוּ בַּיּוֹם, כֵּיוָן שֶׁהַלַּיְלָה שַׁיָּךְ לְיוֹם הַמָּחֳרָת (קל”א רלד).
